This role offers the opportunity to support a large and diverse workforce while gaining hands-on experience in all aspects of payroll processing, systems management, and employee support.
About the Role
As a Payroll Officer, you'll assist in delivering a timely, accurate, and confidential payroll service. Working as part of a supportive HR team, you will:
- Process fortnightly pay runs, including timesheet data entry, checking and reconciliation.
- Maintain and update employee master records, deductions, and superannuation details.
- Respond to payroll and employee enquiries promptly and professionally.
- Prepare and file personnel and payroll-related documents.
- Assist with process improvements and contribute to system efficiency.
- Provide support to the Payroll Coordinator and work collaboratively with HR and Finance teams.
You are highly organised, customer-focused, and thrive in a busy environment where accuracy matters. You'll bring:
- Demonstrated experience in a payroll environment.
- Knowledge of CHRIS21 (or similar payroll systems).
- Strong computer skills, including Excel, Word, and email applications.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
- Understanding of confidentiality and data security requirements.
