We are seeking an experienced Principal Policy Officer
for a full-time temporary assignment within a high-profile Government setting, located in the Adelaide CBD. This role plays a strategic part in the development and coordination of complex policy advice and briefings with a focus on key sectors such as energy, decarbonisation, renewables and resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide and coordinate expert strategic policy advice on portfolio-wide matters.
- Prepare high-level Ministerial and Executive briefings, cabinet submissions and key talking points.
- Deliver presentations and PowerPoint content for use at external meetings and events.
- Provide strategic analysis on inter-agency legislative proposals and broader government policy directions.
- Represent the organisation on intergovernmental working groups.
- Develop strategic narratives to support budget bids and funding proposals.
- Monitor current and emerging trends relevant to renewable energy and resource sectors.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey complex information clearly.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and manage competing deadlines with high attention to detail.
- A collaborative and strategic mindset with strong negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills.
- High-level analytical skills and sound political judgement.
- Experience in policy development, including briefings, policy statements, and legislative input.
- Knowledge of or exposure to energy, resources, or related sectors will be highly regarded.
- National Police Clearance (current or willing to obtain)
- Located in or able to commute to Adelaide CBD
- Availability to commence from 27 July 2025
