Records Officer – Immediate Start | 8-Month Contract
CBD Location | $37.50 – $40.36/hour + Super
Full-Time, Temporary Contract (8 Months)
Are you an experienced Records Officer looking for your next challenge in a fast-paced, professional environment? We have an excellent opportunity for a highly organised and detail-oriented Records Officer to join a well-established government department in the Adelaide CBD.
About the Role Reporting to the Records Coordinator, you’ll play a vital role in the Records Management Unit, supporting a wide range of administrative and records management functions. You’ll be responsible for managing, creating, sentencing, and disposing of physical and electronic records in accordance with relevant standards, and providing support and advice across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities

  • Create, name, file, retrieve, and dispose of records according to policies and standards
  • Provide front-line support to staff with records enquiries and assist with training and delegation of administrative tasks.
  • Use electronic document and records management systems (e.g., TRIM) to manage workflows and ensure information integrity.
  • Support record sentencing and transfer activities, including boxing and listing for offsite storage.
  • Handle enquiries professionally via phone, email, and in-person, maintaining high levels of customer service and confidentiality.
  • Assist with the development of internal procedures and support project work as required.
Requirements Essential:
  • Demonstrated experience in records management, including sentencing and transfers.
  • Familiarity with records disposal schedules and classification systems.
  • High-level administrative and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
Desirable:
  • Previous experience working within a South Australian State Government environment.
  • Experience with TRIM or similar records management systems.
  • Relevant qualifications such as State Records Accredited Training or Certificate III in Business (Recordkeeping).
