About the Role:
We’re looking for a Senior Engineer who thrives on enabling developers through robust tooling, automation, and cloud-native practices. You’ll help shape and maintain the systems and platforms that power high-performing engineering teams – with a focus on GitHub, AWS, Backstage, and API tooling.
You’ll be part of a central technology enablement group, working with various engineering squads to drive consistency, security, and best practices across CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, and API development. Your passion for modern dev workflows, developer productivity, and emerging AI in engineering will be key to your success.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Own and enhance developer tooling across GitHub, AWS, and Backstage
- Automate AWS infrastructure and deliver codified solutions in Python, TypeScript and Golang
- Lead the onboarding of new tooling and application patterns across engineering teams
- Act as an internal consultant on CI/CD, DevOps best practices, deployment readiness, and API standards
- Translate security and compliance needs into developer-friendly templates and patterns
- Stay ahead of trends in cloud and AI to uplift tooling and development workflows
- Collaborate with Cyber Security, Cloud, and Engineering Centres of Excellence
What You Bring:
- Experience in enterprise-level GitHub and AWS environments
- Strong skills in Python, TypeScript, and Golang
- Deep understanding of CI/CD, containerization (Docker), and cloud-native architecture
- Hands-on experience with AWS services like VPC, EC2, ECS, Lambda, S3, RDS, and CloudFormation
- Strong API design and integration experience using RESTful principles
- Familiarity with Backstage or internal developer platforms is a bonus
- Passion for improving developer experience and sharing knowledge across teams
