Senior Integration Engineer (webMethods) An established enterprise is seeking a Senior Integration Engineer
to help shape and scale their integration landscape across on-premises and cloud environments (AWS). This role offers the opportunity to be a technical leader in a growing digital team, driving best practices and innovation in integration delivery.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Design & Build: Develop and implement secure, scalable integrations using Software AG webMethods (IS, MWS, Trading Networks, etc.), ensuring solutions are high-performing, reusable, and aligned with architectural standards.
- Strategic Contribution: Influence long-term platform roadmaps, evaluate new technologies, and define reusable patterns and standards that underpin sustainable integration delivery.
- Platform Optimisation: Lead performance tuning, monitoring, and governance activities across the integration platform, while supporting the adoption of modern tools (e.g., Kafka, Kong API Gateway).
- Operations & Reliability: Act as an escalation point for incidents, lead troubleshooting and post-deployment support, and contribute to service improvements and documentation.
- Proven expertise in the Software AG webMethods suite(Integration Server, Trading Networks, MWS, Designer, Deployer, etc.).
- Strong experience building APIs (SOAP/REST), file transfers, and messaging integrations with a focus on security and reliability.
- Knowledge of networking and authentication (OAuth, SAML), and familiarity with microservices and hybrid integration architectures.
- Experience working across both cloud (preferably AWS) and on-prem environments.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and automated deployments.
- Exposure to Docker, containerised runtimes, API gateways (e.g., Kong), event-streaming (Kafka), or IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation).
- Play a lead role in shaping the integration landscape for a large and complex organisation.
