AO5 Asset Manager
Queensland State Government
Location: Brisbane City
Pay:$69.21-$75.09 per hour
Contract: 6 months (with potential for extension)
Start Date: Immediate
We are seeking an experienced agency temporary AO5 Asset Manager to join the Queensland Government State department.
Reporting to the Principal Asset Manager, this role is responsible for the effective management of the government-owned office accommodation portfolio, including oversight of associated asset programs. The role applies best practice asset management principles and contemporary government initiatives to support the service delivery needs of Queensland Government agencies.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide asset management expertise, advice and training to internal and external stakeholders across the Queensland Government office accommodation portfolio.
  • Provide specialist input and project management guidance to scope, develop and deliver major and minor works projects.
  • Manage revenue and expenditure, contribute to budget planning and ensure maximum return on investment for the allocated portfolio.
  • Manage property assets in line with organisational business strategies, policies and procedures.
  • Conduct property inspections in accordance with asset management principles (some travel required).
  • Review and contribute to policies and strategies supporting QGAO and broader departmental objectives.
  • Prepare reports, briefing notes, correspondence and submissions for the leadership team.
  • Represent the agency at internal meetings, external events and sector-wide forums.
 
Required Skills and Experience
  • Demonstrated experience applying best practice asset management across a large and diverse property portfolio.
  • Strong capability in generating, analysing and presenting accurate property data, including providing informed recommendations to client departments.
  • Proven experience managing projects and programs of varying scale within agreed timeframes and budgets.
  • Ability to understand the strategic role of property portfolios in supporting broader government initiatives and managing associated risks.
  • Highly developed communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders, contractors and senior management.
  • Ability to adapt to change, negotiate positive outcomes and maintain strong working relationships.
