Our client is a local government organisation seeking an experienced and highly organised Business Support Officer to join their Development Services team. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a busy and customer-focused environment, supporting building certification and development assessment functions while working within a collaborative and professional team.
 
About the role
  • Provide administrative support to the Building Certification and Development Assessment teams.
  • Process and maintain documentation relating to Development Applications (DAs), Construction Certificates (CCs), Occupation Certificates (OCs) and Complying Development Certificates (CDCs).
  • Coordinate and schedule building inspections.
  • Prepare correspondence, reports and other administrative documentation.
  • Manage records, databases and document management systems, ensuring information remains accurate and up to date.
  • Respond to customer enquiries and provide information relating to Council policies, procedures and legislative requirements.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, residents, builders and developers to support service delivery outcomes.
  • Assist with the efficient day-to-day operations of the Development Services function.
About you
  • Certificate III in Business Administration or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Minimum two years' experience in an administration, business support or customer service role.
  • Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills and confidence using business systems and databases.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to provide professional customer service in complex or high-volume environments.
  • Experience within local government, planning, property, construction, development or regulatory environments will be highly regarded.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
