Immediate start for an experienced Civil Project Officer based in the Mid Murray Location for approximately 3 month duration working full time hours. 
  • Assist in the delivery of construction and maintenance programs for infrastructure assets and projects.
  • Prepare contract documentation and facilitate tender processes for infrastructure projects and procurement activities.
  • Provide technical expertise and support across infrastructure operations.
  • Contribute to the development and ongoing improvement of Asset Management practices.
Key Responsibilities: 
  • Facilitate the construction and maintenance of infrastructure assets including roads, stormwater systems and footpaths.
  • Inspect transport and stormwater assets, investigate issues and complaints, and liaise with management to ensure works are delivered within approved budgets.
  • Prepare weekly, fortnightly or monthly works schedules aligned with the approved Works Program.
  • Liaise with Coordinators and Works staff regarding projects, services and programmed works.
  • Ensure all asset and infrastructure works are completed in a technically sound and compliant manner.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with internal stakeholders to ensure competent delivery of works.
  • Prepare and/or coordinate funding applications for new and existing projects.
  • Prepare, supervise and inspect contracts for capital works projects.
  • Ensure compliance with Work Health and Safety requirements, approved designs and specifications.
  • Provide engineering survey advice and technical support for the set-out of civil works projects.
  • Contribute input and advice to the development and review of Asset Management Plans.
  • Obtain quotations and call tenders for goods and services in accordance with Work Health and Safety and Procurement Policies.
  • Negotiate contract terms and pricing.
  • Following all Asset Management Policies and Procedures.
Requirements of the Position Qualifications:
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or demonstrated equivalent industry experience.
  • Current Class C driver’s licence.
  • Construction White Card (desirable).
  • Workzone Traffic Management accreditation (desirable).
