Our client is seeking an experienced Communications Officer to support the delivery of a major regional project. A busy and varied role incorporating communications, media, community and stakeholder engagement. A great opportunity to work within a project environment, on a long term casual temporary assignment until August 2029.
About the role
- Provide advice and support on communication strategy, risk assessment, and issues management for the project
- Proactively identify and mitigate reputational and project risks through targeted communication approaches.
- Lead and support stakeholder and community engagement initiatives, ensuring transparent, timely, and effective communication with diverse audiences, including government agencies, project partners, contractors, community groups, and internal stakeholders.
- Plan, develop, implement, and manage integrated communication strategies, campaigns, and key activities, including events, briefings, and public-facing initiatives
- Manage media relations including preparing key messaging, responses, and briefing materials to ensure consistent, accurate, and proactive communication.
- Ensure robust governance frameworks are implemented and adhered to, maintaining compliance with relevant policies, legislation, regulations, and organisational standards
About You
- You will have extensive experience of community and stakeholder engagement, and the ability to deliver customer-focused outcomes
- You will have strong time management, and organisational skills, and the ability and flexibility to work in a fast-paced project environment.
- You will have experience in strategic communication or community engagement either within government (local, state or federal) or construction/engineering.
- You will have experience in community engagement, executive correspondence, public relations and medica.
- You will have strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to communicate at all levels.

- $69.21 to $75.09 per hour + super
