About the Role A well-known State Government Department is seeking a motivated and capable Contracts Support Officer to join its Physical Assets Services Branch. Working as part of a collaborative and professional team, this role supports a large and diverse portfolio of asset-related contracts that service metropolitan and regional operations across South Australia.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, contracts, suppliers and stakeholders, and who can balance accuracy, timely workload management and responsive customer service. The work is varied and requires strong attention to detail, initiative and a confident communication style.
Key Responsibilities In this role you will:
- Provide day-to-day support in the development, delivery and monitoring of major asset-related contracts.
- Liaise with internal teams and external service providers to maintain positive working relationships and ensure smooth contract operations.
- Respond to enquiries, identify issues affecting service delivery, and contribute to practical solutions.
- Maintain accurate contract, expenditure, inventory and performance data across key databases.
- Prepare clear, reliable and timely reports, including KPI monitoring, budget and financial analysis, and performance summaries.
- Assist in reviewing business processes and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Support the preparation of contract documentation, business process material, briefings and correspondence.
- Contribute to unit-wide initiatives and administrative activities, including support during peak operational periods.
- Experience supporting procurement, commercial contract or operational activities within a government or large commercial environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and develop sound recommendations.
- High levels of integrity, confidentiality and professionalism.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to changing demands.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills and the confidence to liaise with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Experience in business process mapping or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience working with databases or financial systems.
