A key opportunity to establish and lead a modern enterprise data governance function within a purpose-driven not-for-profit organisation.
This role is focused on building strong governance frameworks, defining data ownership, and ensuring data is trusted, secure, and used responsibly across the business.

What you’ll do
- Establish and lead the enterprise data governance framework, policies, and standards
- Define data ownership, stewardship, and accountability models across business units
- Chair governance forums and drive decision-making across stakeholders
- Oversee data quality standards, metrics, and remediation processes
- Ensure compliance with privacy, security, and regulatory requirements
- Partner with technology teams to embed governance through platforms and tooling
- Develop data definitions, glossaries, and metadata standards
- Drive data literacy and governance adoption across the organisation
- Provide oversight on responsible data use in reporting, analytics, and AI
- Monitor governance maturity, risks, and performance
- Strong experience in data governance or data management roles
- Proven ability to operate across both business and technical stakeholders
- Deep understanding of data ownership, quality, privacy, and compliance
- Experience establishing governance frameworks and decision forums
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- Ability to work at both strategic and operational levels
- Experience in regulated or complex environments
- Exposure to financial or operational reporting environments
- Knowledge of governance tools (catalogues, lineage, metadata)
- Familiarity with frameworks (e.g. DAMA-DMBOK, privacy or risk standards)
- Exposure to AI governance or responsible data practices
