A State Government Department is seeking four experienced Estate Services Officers to join their Customer Services team on an initial 2-month contract, with an immediate start.
There is a strong opportunity for extension or ongoing employment for high-performing candidates (subject to application into an ASO3 pool).
About the Role As an Estate Services Officer, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of deceased estates and trusts, delivering high-quality administrative and client-focused services. You will liaise with beneficiaries, legal representatives, financial institutions, and internal stakeholders to ensure the effective and compliant administration of estates.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and administer a caseload of estates and trusts within agreed timeframes
- Liaise with beneficiaries, clients, and their representatives in a professional and empathetic manner
- Prepare accurate financial statements and reports
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including legal, taxation, and property service providers
- Arrange the sale, transfer, and management of estate assets, including property and investments
- Review investment strategies to ensure appropriate returns
- Manage estate liabilities and ensure timely payments
- Prepare documentation relating to wills and powers of attorney
- Maintain accurate records in line with legislative and policy requirements
- Previous case management experience (essential)
- Strong financial knowledge and the ability to interpret financial information (essential)
- Proven ability to manage high-volume workloads and meet deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to manage sensitive situations with tact, discretion, and empathy
- Experience working within legislative or regulatory frameworks (highly regarded)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Competitive hourly rate of $45–$48 plus superannuation
