We are currently seeking an experienced Project Officer - Governance to join a State Government department based in the CBD for approximately 6 months. This role focuses on governance and being able to multi-task your strong administration skills across the teams.  Collaborating closely with strategic project teams to ensure effective coordination and high-quality outcomes.
 
This is a dynamic, all-rounder position suited to someone who thrives in structured environments, demonstrates exceptional attention to detail, and is confident working closely with senior stakeholders.
 
About the Role:
 
In addition to core governance and project coordination responsibilities, this role incorporates elements of Executive Assistant support to senior leaders. You will be actively involved in strategic meetings, governance forums, and leadership interactions, contributing to the smooth coordination and execution of high-level activities.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate governance forums, including preparing agendas, collating papers, and managing reporting cycles
  • Attend and support senior strategic meetings, including minute taking and tracking actions
  • Facilitate and run meetings where required, ensuring outcomes and actions are clearly documented
  • Undertake assurance reviews to ensure compliance with governance frameworks and stage gate requirements
  • Identify risks, gaps, and areas for improvement across projects
  • Maintain governance processes, systems, and tracking tools
  • Partner with Project Managers and stakeholders to ensure accurate, timely, and high-quality reporting
  • Provide Executive Assistant-style support to senior leaders, including diary coordination where required
  • Assist with planning and coordinating ad-hoc events, workshops, and governance forums
About You:
  • Strong experience working within project governance frameworks
  • Confidence in reviewing documentation and identifying risks or non-compliance
  • Proven ability to prepare high-quality governance or committee papers
  • Experience supporting senior leaders, including minute taking in executive or strategic meetings
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence across teams
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly in reporting and documentation
  • A proactive, team-oriented mindset with a willingness to support across multiple functions
You will need to hold a current police check (issued within 6 months).
