An established organisation is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to help design and deliver modern, cloud-based data platforms that support analytics, reporting and advanced data use cases.
This is a senior, hands-on role working across data architecture, pipeline engineering and platform development within a Google Cloud environment. You’ll collaborate closely with architects, engineers and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure and high-performing data solutions.
What you’ll be doing:
- Design and build scalable data pipelines on Google Cloud, ingesting data from APIs, operational systems and third-party platforms
- Develop and optimise data processing workflows using BigQuery, Dataflow and Cloud Composer to support analytics and reporting
- Design and implement data models and transformation frameworks to enable trusted, high-quality datasets for business users
- Apply DevOps and engineering best practices to improve reliability, automation and performance across the data platform
- 5+ years’ experience in Data Engineering and modern cloud data platforms
- Strong hands-on experience with GCP technologies such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Storage and Cloud Composer
- Advanced SQL and experience with Python or similar programming languages for data processing
- Experience designing scalable data architectures and enterprise data solutions
- Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and integrating data across multiple source systems
- Strong understanding of data governance, security and data quality principles
