  • Senior Project Officer
  • $69.21 - $75.09 Per Hour Plus Super
  • State Government Department - CBD Based
Immediate start for a Senior Project Officer to report to the Principal Project Manager, Major Projects (Property Group), you will contribute to the delivery of significant and complex capital works and building refurbishment projects. You will also provide support to multi-disciplinary project teams across capital works, building and asset maintenance, facility operations and contract management to ensure optimal operation of the department’s office and property portfolio.

The work you do will directly contribute to infrastructure and property outcomes that support Queensland communities every day.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the delivery of capital works projects across a diverse asset portfolio by providing administrative and project support to ensure timely and effective outcomes.
  • Support multi-disciplinary project teams in risk management and maintenance management activities.
  • Monitor and report on project status, schedules and milestones, ensuring timely updates to senior stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with delivery partners, agencies, consultants and stakeholders to define scope, costs and programs for capital works projects.
  • Prepare and coordinate project documentation, including briefs, terms of reference, briefing notes, commencement approvals and financial approval requests.
  • Undertake financial administration tasks, including tracking project expenditure, monitoring budgets, and assisting with project and program cash flow forecasting.
  • Support the administration of service contracts and standing offer arrangements, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
  • Contribute to risk management, audit and assessment programs through research and administrative support.
  • Research asset management principles, government initiatives and industry best practices to support effective asset operations.
  • Liaise with government agencies, local governments, industry representatives and other stakeholders to facilitate successful project outcomes.
  • Represent the department at meetings and forums as required and assist in building productive cross-agency and industry networks.
What We Are Looking For We are seeking a motivated and capable professional who demonstrates:
  • Experience supporting the delivery of capital works projects, including coordination, progress tracking and compliance with established processes.
  • Sound financial administration skills, including budget monitoring, expenditure tracking and contract support.
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to prepare clear and concise documentation, reports and correspondence.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
