We are seeking an experienced and motivated WHS Project / Policy Officer (ASO5) to join our team with an immediate start to 31 December 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to work health and safety initiatives, develop and review policies, and support the implementation of projects that strengthen safety culture and compliance across the organisation.
 
You will play a key role in the development, implementation and continuous improvement of work health and safety, policies and projects. Working collaboratively with leaders and stakeholders across the organisation, you will provide specialist advice and practical solutions that support organisational objectives and legislative compliance.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Develop, review and maintain WHS policies, procedures, frameworks and guidance materials.
  • Lead and coordinate WHS projects and improvement initiatives.
  • Support the implementation of organisational WHS strategies and action plans.
  • Research legislative changes, industry trends and best practice to inform policy development.
  • Conduct policy reviews and gap analyses to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Prepare high-quality reports, briefing papers, project documentation and recommendations.
  • Engage and consult with stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes.
  • Assist with change management, communication and implementation activities.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of WHS systems, processes and governance arrangements.
  • Provide advice and support on WHS-related matters across the organisation.
About You To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Demonstrated experience in WHS policy development, project management or a related field.
  • Sound knowledge of Work Health and Safety legislation, standards and best practice principles.
  • Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written communication skills with experience preparing policies, procedures, reports and briefings.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and consultation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver outcomes within tight timeframes.
  • Experience working collaboratively across diverse teams and stakeholder groups.
  • High-level organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must have a current police check
